Owensboro Health has launched AssistIQ’s AI-powered charge capture and documentation platform across all of its operating rooms, fully integrated with Epic. The goal: make it easier for surgical teams to document supplies and implants while giving them more time for patient care.
As Owensboro Health shared, their teams previously documented supplies by finding catalog numbers on packages, typing them into Epic, and manually searching for the correct product. Now, they capture the product directly using AIQ Capture and it charges automatically—streamlining the process and reducing steps for the team.
Owensboro Health has also seen more than 99% accuracy in capturing surgical supplies and implants and over a 90% reduction in inventory depletion errors.
But for Owensboro, this project has always been about creating a better day for their teams and a better experience for their patients.
This implementation was designed with Owensboro’s perioperative and supply chain teams, in partnership with Optum IT and revenue cycle partners.
We’re proud to support Owensboro Health on this journey and excited to see how they continue to lead the way in creating more efficient, team-centered surgical operations. Next, we’re partnering to expand AssistIQ into additional procedural areas—building on the momentum to drive even greater impact.
The rollout has also captured the attention of Owensboro’s local media. So far, Owensboro Times, the Messenger-Inquirer, and 44 News all highlighted the project.
